The Positive Prevention PLUS: Positive Minds – Mental Education for Today’s Youth (High School Edition) was developed in collaboration with subject matter experts in education, mental health, medicine, social services, and professional development. This curriculum focuses on protective behaviors through peer-based and interactive strategies designed to engage students meaningfully.
Positive Minds addresses the requirements of California Senate Bill 224, which mandates mental health education for Local Educational Agencies (LEAs). The curriculum includes six age-appropriate lessons that equip students with essential knowledge and skills to maintain and protect their mental well-being.
Each lesson features easy-to-follow, colorful slides that align with the curriculum, along with engaging, interactive stories that bring the content to life. Lesson Wrap-Ups include guided discussion questions to encourage communication between students and their parent(s) or a trusted adult, extending the learning experience beyond the classroom.
Each lesson includes black-line masters of worksheets and student activity cards. For convenience, pre-printed student workbooks containing all lesson worksheets, along with activity card sets, are available in both English and Spanish through our online store.
