The Positive Prevention PLUS: Positive Minds – Mental Education for Today’s Youth (Middle School Edition) was developed in collaboration with experts in education, mental health, medicine, social services, and professional development. This curriculum emphasizes protective behaviors through peer-based and interactive strategies designed specifically for middle school students.
Positive Minds aligns with California Senate Bill 224, which mandates mental health education for Local Educational Agencies (LEAs). It includes five age-appropriate lessons that provide essential knowledge and tools to help students maintain and protect their mental health.
Each lesson features easy-to-follow, colorful slides that align with the curriculum, along with engaging and interactive stories that enhance learning. Lesson Wrap-Ups include guided discussion questions that encourage meaningful conversations between students and their parent(s) or a trusted adult, helping to reinforce key concepts outside the classroom.
Black-line masters of worksheets and student activity cards are included with each lesson. For added convenience, pre-printed student workbooks containing all lesson worksheets, along with activity card sets, are available in both English and Spanish through our online store.
The curriculum is shrink-wrapped and three-hole punched, and includes lesson dividers, a sample Student Workbook, and a durable three-ring binder.
